Amgen To Discuss Details Of Repatha™ (Evolocumab) Biologics License Application For The Treatment Of High Cholesterol
June 10, 2015 8:00 AM EDTTHOUSAND OAKS, Calif., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Â Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) today announced that the Company will discuss the data supporting the RepathaTMÂ (evolocumab) Biologics License Application (BLA) for the treatment of high cholesterol with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Endocrinologic and Metabolic Drugs Advisory Committee (EMDAC). Repatha is an investigational fully human monoclonal antibody that inhibits proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), a protein that reduces the liver's ability to remove low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), or "bad" cholesterol, from the blood.1
