Northwest Airlines (NWA) Reports August Traffic Results
Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) announced an August consolidated (mainline and regional) load factor of 86.6%, 1.0 points below August 2007. Northwest reported a mainline load factor of 87.8%, 0.7 points below August 2007.
In August 2008, Northwest and Northwest Airlink regional carriers flew 7.3 billion consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 8.4 billion consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), a traffic increase of 1.9% and a capacity increase of 3.1% versus August 2007.
Northwest flew 6.5 billion mainline revenue passenger miles and 7.4 billion mainline available seat miles in August 2008, a traffic decrease of 1.6% and a capacity decrease of 0.9% versus August 2007.[SM]
