TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Cansbridge Fellowship, an organization providing resources to high-impact undergraduate university students in Canada, announced today that it will be co-hosting the Building Bridges Conference in Vancouver with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, a not-for-profit organization focused on strengthening Canada’s relations with Asia.

This event will take place Oct. 12-13, 2018, at the SFU Segal Building in Vancouver, Canada. The Building Bridges Conference will be the first of its kind, offering a cross-cultural management case study competition to 75 hand-picked Canadian post-secondary students. Throughout the day-long competition, students will have access to mentors and present their ideas to 160 delegates and four judges. Delegates will include business leaders, entrepreneurs, government officials, and thought leaders from all over Canada.

Ross Kelley, Executive Director of the Cansbridge Fellowship, stated, “We are thrilled to be partnering with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada in hosting the conference. During this unique event students will explore and offer solutions to real current problems faced by real companies in Asia. Winning teams will have their proposals sent directly to the companies in question whereby their ideas may be implemented.”

“With the very real and present shifts we are seeing in the global economy, a trend that is only gaining momentum, future opportunities for Canadian youth will lie in the Asia Pacific,” said Stewart Beck, President and CEO of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. “The Cansbridge Fellowship, and particularly this first Building Bridges conference in Vancouver, will highlight those opportunities for Canada’s leaders and innovators of tomorrow.”

Vivek Chachcha, chief event organizer, stated, “We are delighted by the response of the students and are grateful for the sponsorships from NEXT Canada, VanEdge Capital, Noah Holdings, AxiomZen, Kensington Capital Partners and the Western Economic Diversification of Canada.”
