Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) reported Q3 EPS of $0.96, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $0.91. Revenue was $1.41 billion, with estimates at $1.41 billion.
Streaming paid members came in at 50.65 million, from 47.99 million in Q214. Domestic streaming subs rose from 35.09 million up to 36.27 million sequentially last quarter, or a gain of 980,000 subs. The Street was looking for domestic sub gains of 1.3 million.
The company sees Q4 EPS of $0.44, versus estimates at $0.85.
Earlier today, in a direct move to combat Netflix, Time Warner said it would sell HBO as a standalone service starting in 2015.
