N-able launches AI-driven patch management for third-party apps

October 27, 2026 6:02 AM EDT

N-able, Inc. (NYSE: NABL) has launched an AI-accelerated Vulnerability and Patch Management product, the company announced in a press release. The new offering is designed to reduce patching windows from days to minutes for IT teams and managed service providers.

The product is built into N-able's Unified Endpoint Management platform and covers vulnerability scanning for over 900 third-party applications, with automatic remediation support for more than 350 applications across Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints.

The workflow operates in four stages: scanning for vulnerabilities, prioritizing patches based on active exploitability, remediating within the same tool, and verifying patch completion through an on-demand rescan. The system is assisted by N-able's AI tool, called N-zo, which provides prioritization guidance and failure analysis.

The product does not require switching between tools, as patching and verification are handled within a single workflow. Compliance reports and remediation progress data are accessible from a unified interface.

"Patching has always been part of IT best practice, but the landscape has changed significantly. AI-assisted exploits mean that human speed simply isn't enough to stay a step ahead," said Brendan Griffin, Director of Threat Research at N-able. "AI-accelerated Vulnerability and Patch Management gives IT teams and service providers a key part of the solution, automating the entire patching process from scanning to verification from a single workflow, allowing teams to remediate before the exploit lands."

When patching is not possible, the system provides mitigation scripts as an alternative. Patch failures are reported along with context on whether redeployment is safe.
