BMO Capital analyst Stephen MacLeod lowered the price target on Gildan Activewear (NYSE: GIL) to $64.00 (from $82.00) while maintaining an Outperform rating.
The analyst commented: "Weaker Macro Introduces Downside Risk to 2026E Guidance; Gildan reports Q3/26 results November 5. The stock has been weak since Q2, reflecting a reset in expectations around consumer demand, channel replenishment, and the achievability of 2026E guidance. The macro backdrop has weakened (inflationary pressures, higher rates), which we expect to pressure lower-/middle-income Retail consumer spending and Wholesale demand. While we remain constructive on Gildan's ability to continue gaining market share (even against a weaker market backdrop) and deliver HanesBrands integration synergies, we have lowered our estimates and target price to reflect demand headwinds."
