Hurricane Isaias forces Gulf oil and gas production shutdowns
Investing.com -- Oil and gas producers in the Gulf of Mexico shut in approximately 62.89% of current oil production and 57.35% of current natural gas production as of today, the Marine Minerals Administration reported.
Workers were evacuated from 121 production platforms, representing 32.61% of the 371 manned platforms in the Gulf, as operators responded to Hurricane Isaias.
Personnel were removed from five non-dynamically positioned rigs, equal to 45.45% of the 11 such rigs currently operating in the region, the agency said.
Four of the Gulf's 17 dynamically positioned rigs moved off location as a precautionary measure to avoid the hurricane's path, according to the Marine Minerals Administration.
