Gogo (NASDAQ: GOGO) has signed a communications lease valued at more than $15 million with an undisclosed overseas government customer to provide geostationary (GEO) satellite connectivity for government aircraft, according to a press release from the company.
The contract covers GEO satellite connectivity, which Gogo states remains available in regions where low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite services face restrictions, including Russia, China, and India.
Christopher Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Gogo, attributed the deal to an existing relationship with the customer. "This renewal reflects the confidence built through years of reliable performance and responsive support," Moore said.
The company also cited data privacy practices as a factor in the customer's decision. "At Gogo, our philosophy is to minimize data retention and collect only the information necessary to manage, deliver and support our services," Moore added.
Gogo said its global support team operates around the clock in multiple languages and can dispatch a technician to an aircraft within 24 hours if needed. The company is based in Broomfield, Colorado, and provides connectivity services to business aviation and government customers.
