Bitdeer AI secures 70%+ off-take for Malaysia data center

September 29, 2026 5:00 PM EDT

Bitdeer Technologies Group (NASDAQ: BTDR) announced that its Bitdeer AI unit has secured off-take commitments covering more than 70% of capacity at its A201 data center facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, ahead of a planned energization in the first quarter of 2027.

The A201 facility has an approximately 21.7MW capacity and is expected to generate more than $1.7 billion in contracted revenue over five years. Combined with existing commitments, Bitdeer AI's total expected revenue backlog now stands at approximately $2.9 billion.

The facility is a liquid-cooled site purpose-built for rack-scale Nvidia GB300 NVL72 deployments, with a portion of rack space designed to support Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin platform. Bitdeer AI said it has procured more than 100 racks of Nvidia GB300 NVL72 systems from an unaffiliated third-party supplier at market price.

Together with the previously announced A202 facility, the Johor Bahru campus is expected to represent 86.8MW of AI cloud data center capacity. Bitdeer AI is targeting up to 350MW of AI cloud data center capacity to be delivered by the first quarter of 2028, with plans to fund development primarily through customer prepayments, operating cash flow, and financing secured against contracted cash flows.

The company said its active pipeline for AI cloud capacity exceeds $10 billion across its sites.

"Designing A201 to support both current-generation GB300 and next-generation Vera Rubin deployments allows us to serve customers across multiple platform generations from a single site, while maintaining the capital discipline that underpins our AI Cloud strategy," said Michael G. Potter, Chief Financial Officer of Bitdeer.
