Nano Nuclear Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: NNE) has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Enveniam, LLC to explore collaboration across nuclear fuel cycle infrastructure, microreactor commercialization, advanced manufacturing and energy solutions, according to a company statement.
The MOU establishes a framework for the two companies to evaluate potential cooperation across six areas: nuclear fuel transportation, uranium conversion and deconversion, microreactor commercialization, advanced manufacturing, domestic fuel supply chain, and commercial energy markets including data centers and remote communities.
Enveniam is a project integrator consisting of Boston Government Services, Strategic Management Solutions LLC and Sterling Engineering & Consulting, and is a portfolio company of Bernhard Capital Partners.
Under the agreement, the companies plan to form a joint working group to review potential business opportunities and identify projects that may warrant funded statements of work. The MOU does not obligate either party to proceed with any specific project, provide services or commit funding. Any such activity would require separate definitive agreements.
"Commercializing advanced nuclear technology requires more than a strong reactor design," said James Walker, Chief Executive Officer of Nano Nuclear Energy. "It requires disciplined licensing, safety analysis, project controls, supply-chain coordination, manufacturing planning and operational readiness."
One area of potential collaboration involves electricity and process-heat solutions for data centers. The companies also intend to evaluate opportunities for remote and off-grid communities, including Alaska Native organizations and island jurisdictions.
Nano Nuclear's subsidiaries Advanced Fuel Transportation Inc. and HALEU Energy Fuel Inc. are pursuing transportation and fuel-fabrication capabilities intended to support its reactor programs. The company's reactor products in development include the KRONOS MMR™ Energy System, a stationary high-temperature gas-cooled reactor being developed in collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
