CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) moved 2.50 million metric tonnes (MMT) of grain from Western Canada in August, setting a new monthly record, according to a company press release.
The figure surpasses the previous monthly record of 2.34 MMT, which was set in August 2020. The announcement marks the start of the 2026–27 crop year as harvest progresses across Western Canada.
CN said the performance reflects customer demand and coordination with grain supply chain partners. The company added that it remains focused on maintaining service levels through the fall harvest following what it described as a record 2025–26 crop year.
