Xos Hub reaches 1 gigawatt-hour milestone from a single unit

Xos, Inc. (NASDAQ: XOS) announced that a single Xos Hub™ mobile energy storage unit has delivered more than one gigawatt-hour of cumulative energy, recording 1,020,143.6 kWh across more than 33,600 charging sessions, according to a company press release.

The unit entered heavy-duty service in early 2025 and averaged between 1,800 and 2,000 kWh of energy delivery per day. Across its connected Hub fleet, Xos said total energy delivered has surpassed 5 gigawatt-hours to date.

The Xos Hub is described as a mobile, grid-independent energy storage and charging system designed to operate without permanent infrastructure or utility upgrades. The unit has operated across a range of climates and applications, including fleet operations and disaster response.

"Reaching a gigawatt-hour from a single Hub gives us multi-year data on how this platform performs under continuous, real-world use," said Dakota Semler, Chief Executive Officer of Xos.

The company has taken several steps to expand the Hub platform. In January 2026, Xos increased Hub capacity tiers to up to 630 kWh per unit. In June 2026, it introduced the Power Hub, a containerized system available in 1.2, 2.5, and 4.0 MWh configurations. In August 2026, the Hub received UL 2202 certification for fleet energy storage systems.

Recent orders include a follow-on purchase from Xcel Energy for three Hub systems in Colorado to support fleet EV charging during grid upgrade construction, and a prototype Other Transaction Agreement from the U.S. Air Force for deployable mobile charging in field environments.

"Field results at this scale strengthen the total cost of ownership case behind our customers' decisions, and that case only grows as our systems accumulate operating data," said Giordano Sordoni, Chief Operating Officer of Xos.

Xos is based in Los Angeles and manufactures electric commercial vehicles and mobile charging solutions.
