Clearmind starts Phase IIa trial of CMND-100 for alcohol disorder
Clearmind Medicine Inc. (Nasdaq: CMND) announced the initiation of Phase IIa of its double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase I/IIa clinical trial evaluating CMND-100 for the treatment of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), according to a press release issued Sept. 1, 2026.
Six patients have been enrolled to date, with three participants at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and three at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem. This marks the beginning of the first multiple-dose treatment phase, known as Part C, following the completion of the trial's initial safety phase conducted in healthy volunteers.
The Phase IIa trial is designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of CMND-100 in individuals with moderate-to-severe AUD. The broader study is structured as a four-part Phase I/IIa investigation examining single and multiple dose tolerability, safety, and pharmacokinetics in both healthy volunteers and AUD patients.
An independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board previously reviewed clinical data from Part A of the trial and recommended advancing to subsequent parts. The board's assessment supported simultaneous progression into multiple dosing in healthy volunteers and single dosing in the AUD patient population.
CMND-100 is Clearmind's lead investigational compound, described by the company as a psychedelic-derived therapeutic candidate. Clearmind is a Vancouver-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. Its intellectual property portfolio includes 19 patent families and 32 granted patents.
