Ensysce completes enrollment in final stage of opioid study

Ensysce Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENSC) announced the completion of enrollment in Part 3 of its PF614-MPAR-102 clinical study, the second study evaluating its MPAR® (Multi-Pill Abuse Resistance) overdose-protection technology.

The study, supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) under Award Number DA047682, was designed to characterize the drug's protective profile across a range of dosing scenarios. According to the company, clinical data published to date shows PF614-MPAR maintains consistent therapeutic plasma levels at normal doses while limiting exposure increases at supratherapeutic levels.

PF614-MPAR holds Breakthrough Therapy designation. The drug uses a chemical-control mechanism intended to provide therapeutic opioid exposure at prescribed doses while automatically limiting additional release when excessive doses are taken.

CEO Lynn Kirkpatrick stated, "Completing enrollment in this second PF614-MPAR study marks an important milestone for Ensysce as we advance a Breakthrough Therapy-designated program targeting one of the most urgent challenges in prescription opioid therapy: overdose risk."

Ensysce also said it is expanding its pipeline using its TAAP and MPAR® technologies, including lead analogues for amphetamine and methadone targeting ADHD and opioid use disorder, as well as a psychedelic program for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
