Optimum expands T-Mobile deal for 5G network access

Optimum Communications, Inc. (NYSE: OPTU) announced a multi-year agreement with T-Mobile that expands the companies' existing relationship, according to a press release from Optimum.
Under the agreement, Optimum will provide customers access to T-Mobile's 5G Standalone network. The deal also broadens Optimum's device portfolio to include smartphones, wearables, tablets and other connected devices.
The agreement includes enhanced domestic and international roaming capabilities, expanded connectivity for rural and hard-to-reach areas across the United States, and support for business connectivity solutions.
Luciano Ramos, Chief Product & Technology Officer at Optimum, said the agreement will allow the company to "accelerate innovation, enhance everyday customer experiences, and deliver even greater value as we drive our broadband-mobile convergence strategy."
The announcement follows Optimum's disclosure that it has surpassed 700,000 mobile lines. Optimum serves approximately 4.3 million residential and business customers across 21 states.
