QIAGEN launches QIAsymphony Connect nucleic acid extraction platform

QIAGEN N.V. (NYSE: QGEN) has commercially launched QIAsymphony Connect, an in vitro diagnostics (IVD)-compliant platform for automated clinical nucleic acid extraction, according to a company press release.

The platform is designed to standardize nucleic acid extraction across clinical molecular testing workflows, including liquid biopsy, oncology and infectious disease diagnostics. It can process up to 96 samples in four independent batches and supports sample input volumes ranging from a few microliters up to 10 mL.

QIAsymphony Connect is compatible with existing QIAsymphony reagent kits and consumables, which have been used across more than 3,300 cumulative placements of the previous QIAsymphony platform worldwide.

QIAGEN has completed FDA listing in the U.S. and EUDAMED listing in Europe for the new platform. The company said it has already received initial customer orders.

"Clinical laboratories need automation solutions that combine proven extraction performance with the standardization, traceability and productivity needed for today's molecular testing workflows," said Nitin Sood, Senior Vice President and Head of Product Portfolio & Innovation at QIAGEN.

Key features of the platform include automated barcode reading, built-in audit trails, prefilled IVD reagent cartridges and guided workflow setup. QIAGEN is headquartered in Venlo, Netherlands, with operations in Hilden, Germany, and employs approximately 5,500 people across more than 35 locations.
