Truist names Harold Ford Jr. as Wholesale Banking vice chair

Truist Financial Corporation (NYSE: TFC) has appointed Harold Ford Jr. as vice chair in its Wholesale Banking business, effective Aug. 31, according to a company statement.

Ford will report to Chief Wholesale Banking Officer Kristin Lesher and join the Truist Operating Council. His responsibilities will include identifying new business opportunities and deepening relationships with commercial, corporate, institutional and wealth management clients.

Ford joins Truist from PNC Financial Services Group, where he served as executive vice president and regional president for New York. He previously held leadership roles at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley spanning more than a decade.

Ford represented Tennessee's 9th Congressional District from 1997 through 2007 and served on the House Financial Services, Budget and Education Committees. He has also held visiting professor positions at the University of Michigan, New York University and Vanderbilt University, and currently sits on the boards of CME Group and SIGA Technologies.

"Harold's insights, gathered over 30 years in financial services and politics, will complement the work our teams do every day to help businesses, executive teams and high-net-worth families achieve their growth objectives and plan for the future," Lesher said.
