KBR (NYSE: KBR) has been awarded a Workplace Services Management contract by the UK Ministry of Justice, covering the prison and probation estate as part of the government's Property Transformation Programme, according to a company press release.
The contract has a base term of five years with two one-year extension options. Mobilization is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with full service commencement set for June 1, 2027.
Under the agreement, KBR will provide facilities management services and deploy its VIAverse® platform, which the company describes as offering asset management, data analytics, and performance monitoring capabilities across large estates.
The contract expands on a relationship KBR says has spanned more than eight years with the Ministry of Justice. The work will be carried out through KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business, which is planned to be spun off as an independent public company in January 2027 under the name Trinzic.
A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said the contract "will give the department stronger oversight, better data and improved assurance, helping us hold suppliers to account and deliver more consistent, reliable services."
Paul O'Shaughnessy, Vice President of KBR Mission Tech UK, said the award "underscores the strength and longevity of our partnership with the UK Ministry of Justice."
KBR employs approximately 37,000 people worldwide and operates in more than 29 countries.
