Xos, Inc. (NASDAQ: XOS) announced a follow-on order for three Xos Hub™ mobile energy storage and charging systems from Xcel Energy to support fleet charging across multiple Colorado sites, according to a company press release.
Two of the units will be deployed at Xcel Energy service centers in Arvada and Grand Junction to provide DC fast charging for fleet electric vehicles. A third unit will be used by an Xcel Energy transmission team conducting grid upgrade work in a Denver neighborhood, offering temporary charging to residential customers who will be without electricity for several hours during construction.
The order follows Xcel Energy's initial deployment of two Xos Hub units in 2024. Since that deployment, Xcel Energy's Colorado unit has delivered approximately 33,000 kWh of charging.
Xos states the Hub units can be operational within days, compared to the six to eighteen months typically required for permanent DC fast charging infrastructure installation. The company also claims the systems can reduce electricity costs by up to 40% versus standard DC fast chargers in certain applications through off-peak grid charging.
"Our fleet drivers travel millions of miles each year, delivering essential energy services to our customers. These additional Xos Hub mobile charging systems will help keep our growing EV fleet moving while also providing customers with flexible charging options during important grid improvement projects," said Robert Kenney, president of Xcel Energy – Colorado.
Giordano Sordoni, Chief Operating Officer of Xos, said the repeat order reflects "a partnership grounded in proven performance and a shared commitment to fleet electrification."
The announcement follows a separately reported twelve-unit Hub order from an autonomous fleet operator and the January 2026 expansion of the Hub product lineup to three capacity tiers of up to 630 kWh.
