Microsoft and HUMAIN plan to bring Arabic AI model to Microsoft platforms

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and HUMAIN, a company owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, announced a long-term strategic collaboration centered on integrating HUMAIN's Arabic language model, ALLAM, into Microsoft's AI ecosystem.

Under the agreement, the companies intend to make ALLAM available through Microsoft Foundry, giving developers and enterprises access to Arabic language models within Microsoft's platform. Organizations would also be able to use ALLAM's capabilities through Microsoft 365 Copilot to build Arabic-language agents for productivity and business workflows.

The collaboration also includes a co-engineering component, pairing HUMAIN's AI experts with Microsoft's Forward Deployed Engineers to work directly with organizations on identifying, developing, and deploying AI solutions across Microsoft technologies.

"By combining Microsoft's trusted AI platform with HUMAIN's Arabic AI capabilities, we're helping organizations across Saudi Arabia build AI that understands local language and context while meeting the security and governance requirements of enterprise and public sector customers," said Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft.

Tareq Amin, Chief Executive Officer of HUMAIN, described ALLAM's integration as "just the first step," adding that the two companies intend to introduce a broader set of capabilities in the coming months.

The companies said they plan to explore additional areas of collaboration, including productivity, devices, models, infrastructure, and joint go-to-market initiatives across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and Africa.
