Builders FirstSource, Inc. (NYSE: BLDR) has taken the sole lead investor position in a $25.3 million Series A financing round for Digs, an AI platform for homebuilders and homeowners, according to a press release from the companies.
Alongside the investment, the two companies have entered into a five-year commercial agreement aimed at integrating Digs' AI technology into Builders FirstSource's existing digital ecosystem for residential homebuilders.
Digs uses patented artificial intelligence to consolidate construction documents, plans, specifications, product data, and project history into a single platform. The partnership intends to extend these capabilities across estimating, procurement, construction, and post-move-in homeowner services for Builders FirstSource's more than 140,000 customers.
Planned features under the agreement include AI-powered project collaboration tools, digital finish selections, e-signatures, homeowner transparency tools during construction, and warranty and aftercare management.
"Our customers are looking for seamless technology that helps them operate more efficiently and deliver a better homeowner experience," said Peter Jackson, CEO of Builders FirstSource.
Ryan Fink, CEO and co-founder of Digs, said the partnership is aimed at building a scalable digital twin of individual homes to support new services across the life of a property.
Builders FirstSource is headquartered in Irving, Texas, and operates approximately 565 locations across 43 states. Digs is based in Vancouver, Washington, and serves builders and homeowners across all 50 states.
