Google Cloud and Verizon have entered a strategic partnership agreement focused on deploying artificial intelligence across Verizon's customer experience, network operations, and enterprise functions, according to a press release from Google Cloud.
Under the agreement, Verizon will use Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise platform to handle a majority of its inbound consumer calls and chats each month. The companies said the platform has produced improvements in customer satisfaction and automated resolution rates across digital channels.
Verizon is also building an autonomous network intelligence framework using Google Cloud as a data platform partner, with the goal of predicting and resolving network anomalies before they affect customers.
The partnership extends to marketing, where Verizon will use Google Cloud's data and AI tools to automate content creation and campaign management. Verizon will also use Gemini Enterprise for employee productivity and agent orchestration across core business functions.
The agreement builds on a multi-year effort by Verizon to consolidate legacy data systems onto Google's Agentic Data Cloud platform, which the companies said unifies structured databases, unstructured documents, and knowledge graphs into a single data foundation.
"Serving each and every one of our customers by name requires working AI-first at every level," said Alfonso Villanueva, Verizon's chief transformation officer and EVP of Verizon Consumer.
Karthik Narain, chief product and business officer at Google Cloud, said Verizon is integrating Google Cloud's AI stack "from high-performance infrastructure and Gemini models to custom business agents."
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. Verizon is listed on the NYSE as VZ, and Google Cloud is a unit of Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL).
