Leggett & Platt shareholders approve merger with Somnigroup

Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG) announced that its shareholders have voted to approve a merger with Somnigroup International Inc. (NYSE: SGI), according to a press release issued Aug. 20, 2026.
The merger, governed by an Agreement and Plan of Merger dated April 13, 2026, would result in Leggett & Platt becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Somnigroup. Under the terms of the agreement, Sparrow Unity Corporation, a Missouri-based subsidiary of Somnigroup, would merge with and into Leggett & Platt.
The transaction remains subject to at least one outstanding regulatory approval. The company said it anticipates the deal will close upon satisfaction of the remaining closing conditions.
Leggett & Platt, headquartered in Carthage, Mo., is a manufacturer of engineered components and products used in bedding, automotive seating, furniture, and construction applications.
