Jack in the Box Inc. (NASDAQ: JACK) has appointed Taylor Montgomery as president, effective September 14, 2026, the company announced. The role is newly created, and Montgomery is expected to become chief executive officer within the next 12 months, at which point he will also join the board of directors.
The appointment is part of a previously announced CEO succession plan. During the transition, Montgomery will work alongside Executive Chairman and Interim CEO Mark King, who will remain chairman after the leadership change is complete.
Montgomery most recently served as Global Chief Brand Officer at Taco Bell, a unit of Yum! Brands, where he oversaw more than $18 billion in systemwide sales across more than 9,000 restaurants. During his tenure, Taco Bell reported over 7% sales growth, 3% restaurant growth, and 8% profit growth in the most recent year. He spent more than a decade at Yum! Brands in brand marketing and innovation roles. Before that, he spent more than five years at Procter & Gamble in brand strategy positions.
"Taylor brings a deep understanding of the franchised QSR industry, and I am confident he will advance our strategy and vision," King said in a statement.
Jack in the Box operates and franchises approximately 2,115 restaurants across 25 states, Mexico, and Guam.
