Iveda launches gas-powered helicopter drone line for public safety

Iveda (NASDAQ: IVDA), a Mesa, Arizona-based provider of AI-powered public safety technologies, has launched IvedaAir, a line of gas-powered autonomous unmanned helicopters aimed at public safety, maritime security, and emergency response operations, according to a company statement.

The line's flagship GX10-F100 platform offers more than 150 minutes of flight endurance and is designed for use in coastal, high-wind, and remote terrain environments. The company says the system is both NDAA and TAA compliant and integrates with its existing IvedaAI analytics platform, supporting autonomous waypoint missions, real-time encrypted video transmission, and AI-powered object detection.

Iveda states the drones can be purchased directly by FAA-licensed and military-certified pilots. The systems are available for government procurement through GlobalMed via the Defense Logistics Agency's Tailored Logistics Support contract vehicle.

"Public safety and mission-critical operators have been forced to work within the limitations of drone systems that were never designed for the environments they operate in," said David Ly, CEO and founder of Iveda.

The company also outlined a future pathway to retrofit retired full-size helicopters into autonomous drone platforms, though no timeline or contracts for that initiative were announced.

Iveda said its target is to capture $50 million in market share within 24 months. The global UAV market is projected to grow from $47.55 billion in 2026 to more than $160 billion by 2034, according to Fortune Business Insights data cited in the release.
