Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK) announced that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the highest-grossing domestic film in the company's history, reaching that milestone in under three weeks of release.
The film also set records across several of Cinemark's premium formats, becoming the top-performing title for Cinemark XD large-format screens, ScreenX panoramic screens, and D-BOX motion seats.
"Becoming the highest grossing domestic film in Cinemark's history in less than three weeks is an extraordinary achievement that speaks to the enduring appeal of Spider-Man, the power of compelling stories to bring audiences of all generations together, and the unique ability of the theatrical experience to create shared cultural moments," said Justin McDaniel, Senior Vice President of Global Content at Cinemark.
The film is a Sony and Marvel production. Cinemark operates nearly 500 theaters and more than 5,500 screens across 42 U.S. states and 13 countries in South and Central America.
