Sweetgreen opens first East Coast sweetlane location in Virginia

Sweetgreen (NYSE: SG) opened its first East Coast sweetlane location in McLean, Virginia, on August 20, marking the fourth sweetlane to open under the order-ahead drive-up format the company first introduced as a pilot concept in 2022.

The restaurant is located at Chesterbrook Shopping Center at 6220 Old Dominion Drive. Customers place orders through the Sweetgreen app or website, selecting sweetlane as their pickup method, then drive through a dedicated window to collect their order. The location also offers dine-in seating and traditional in-store pickup.

The McLean restaurant is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and serves the company's standard menu of salads, warm bowls, protein plates, and wraps.

"sweetlane brings that to life by pairing the convenience of a drive-through with the scratch-cooked, craveable food that guests expect," said Ryan Slemons, Chief Development Officer at Sweetgreen.

According to the company's press release, Sweetgreen operates more than 285 locations nationwide. The McLean opening adds to the company's existing presence in the Washington, D.C. region.
