Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) has appointed Dean Becker as Chief Licensing Officer, effective immediately, according to a company press release. Becker will oversee licensing, valuation, and monetization of the company's intellectual property portfolio across its Data Science and Acoustic Science divisions.
Becker has more than 30 years of experience in intellectual property transactions, with the company claiming he has completed more than $11 billion in such deals over his career. He previously created the Ocean Tomo patent auction business and sold it to ICAP plc, a former FTSE 100 company. He then served for a decade as CEO of ICAP Ocean Tomo Auctions, ICAP Patent Brokerage, ICAP IP, and ICAP Media.
Earlier roles included founding 422 Inc., serving as Chairman and CEO of eWireless, and Chairman and CEO of Becker Beeper until its acquisition by Arch Telecommunications. He also served as Vice Chairman of the ROKiT Group.
"Datavault AI is exactly the kind of company the intellectual property market was built for: a true technology licensing business with foundational patents across data science and acoustics," Becker said in the statement.
In his new role, Becker will direct licensing programs for the company's Data Science Division, which includes the Information Data Exchange, DataScore, DataValue, and real-world asset tokenization technologies. In the Acoustic Science Division, he will lead licensing of the company's WiSA, ADIO, and Sumerian patented technologies covering spatial and multichannel wireless audio transmission.
Datavault AI CEO Nathaniel T. Bradley said Becker's appointment aligns with the company's strategy of monetizing its patent portfolio across additional industries and geographies.
