Anterix (NASDAQ: ATEX) issued a statement supporting a proposal filed by SpaceX with the Federal Communications Commission regarding buildout requirements for low band spectrum.
SpaceX filed an ex parte letter with the FCC on Aug. 10, 2026, proposing technology-neutral buildout options for 5/5 megahertz broadband licenses in the 896-901/935-940 MHz band. The proposal would allow licensees to meet buildout obligations through existing terrestrial requirements under Section 27.1505 or through alternative waiver-based satellite direct-to-device criteria.
Christopher Guttman-McCabe, Chief Regulatory and Corporate Communications Officer at Anterix, said the company supports the SpaceX proposal, noting that "optionality could help bring this spectrum to market faster."
Anterix holds licensed spectrum in the 896-901/935-940 MHz band and is based in Woodland Park, N.J.
