L3Harris completes hot-fire test for Next Generation Interceptor

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has completed a hot-fire test of its stage two advanced large solid rocket motor (SRM) for the Missile Defense Agency's Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program, according to a company press release.
The test, conducted as part of a Lockheed Martin-led team, involved igniting the SRM through a full-duration burn in a simulated high-altitude, vacuum environment. The test was designed to evaluate system performance in the upper layers of Earth's atmosphere and to gather data ahead of additional testing planned for later this year.
L3Harris serves as the primary propulsion and control systems provider for the NGI program, supplying both stage one and stage two advanced large solid rocket motors, as well as the Attitude Control System (ACS) and Divert and Attitude Control System (DACS). The company manufactures ACS and DACS components at facilities in California and Virginia, and produces solid rocket motors in Alabama and Arkansas.
