Nike CFO to serve as interim controller after VP resignation

Nike (NYSE: NKE) announced that Johanna Nielsen, Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller, notified the company on August 4, 2026, of her intent to resign effective September 4, 2026, to pursue another opportunity.
Nike stated that Nielsen's resignation is not the result of any disagreement with the company relating to its operations, policies or practices.
Effective September 4, 2026, David Denton, who was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on August 17, 2026, will also assume the role of Interim Corporate Controller and serve as the company's principal accounting officer. He will hold that designation until the Board of Directors appoints a successor Corporate Controller.
Nike previously disclosed Denton's appointment as CFO in a Current Report on Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 23, 2026. The company noted that Denton's compensation will not be adjusted in connection with his additional role as Interim Corporate Controller.
