Landstar names Vallie Dugas as VP, general counsel and secretary

Landstar System, Inc. (NASDAQ: LSTR) has appointed Vallie Dugas as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, according to a press release from the Jacksonville, Florida-based transportation company.

Dugas will join Landstar's Executive Leadership Team and report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Frank Lonegro. She joined Landstar in 2025 as Vice President, Assistant General Counsel and has served as Interim General Counsel since April 2026.

In her new role, Dugas will lead Landstar's legal department and oversee the company's legal affairs and corporate governance functions, while serving as an advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Dugas brings more than 20 years of legal experience in both private practice and in-house roles. Before joining Landstar, she served as Vice President and General Counsel of Melton Truck Lines, Inc., where she oversaw legal, regulatory and risk management matters. Prior to that, she was a partner at a New Orleans-based law firm, where she represented transportation and logistics companies on matters including cargo transportation, personal injury litigation, and hazardous materials incidents.

Dugas holds a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
