LiqTech International, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIQT) announced it has received an order for one QureFlow QF-6 ceramic membrane filtration system for an industrial wastewater reuse application in the United States, according to a company press release.
The system will be installed at a facility in Freeport, Texas, where it will treat wastewater from industrial equipment-cleaning operations for reuse in the facility's wash-water supply. The wastewater composition varies depending on the equipment being cleaned and the contaminants involved.
The customer selected the QureFlow system for its ability to handle variable wastewater while producing permeate with low concentrations of suspended solids and oil. The treated water will be recycled back into the wash-water system, with the customer expecting reduced wastewater disposal volumes and freshwater consumption.
The order represents a new customer for LiqTech's U.S. Water for Energy & Industry business and extends the QureFlow platform's use beyond produced water treatment in the oil and gas sector.
"The customer selected our solution for its ability to deliver stable filtration performance and consistent water quality despite highly variable wastewater conditions," said Fei Chen, President and Chief Executive Officer of LiqTech.
