Atmos Energy names Jeff Martinez as SVP of utility operations

Atmos Energy Corporation (NYSE: ATO) announced the planned retirement of John S. McDill, Senior Vice President of Utility Operations, in early 2027, along with the appointment of Jeff D. Martinez as his successor.
McDill joined Atmos Energy in 2002 and has held his current role since October 2021. He will remain in his position and on the company's Management Committee until his retirement.
"John has held key leadership positions across the company throughout his career and will leave a lasting positive influence upon Atmos Energy," said Kevin Akers, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Martinez will assume the Senior Vice President, Utility Operations role effective October 1, 2026, appointed by the company's Board of Directors. He will join the Management Committee and report to Akers.
Martinez has served as President of the Mid-Tex Division since December 2023. He previously held roles including President of Atmos Pipeline – Texas, Vice President of Customer Service Organization, and Vice President of Operations in the Mid-Tex Division.
Atmos Energy is a natural gas distributor headquartered in Dallas serving approximately 3.4 million customers across eight states.
