Hims & Hers Health announced an updated version of its Hers app that embeds artificial intelligence into the care experience for women's weight loss members, according to a company press release.
The app places AI alongside providers and care teams within a single conversation thread, allowing patient history, treatment plans, and progress data to be shared across all parties without the user re-entering information at each step. AI responses are shaped by clinical protocols developed with weight-loss specialists, while licensed providers retain decision-making authority over prescriptions and clinical judgments.
Alongside the app update, the company is introducing a Hers smart scale available to weight loss members at no additional cost. The scale syncs weight and GLP-1 progress data directly to the app, making that information visible to the user's provider, care team, and AI.
"This new experience on the Hers app embeds intelligence at every step of the care experience," said Mo Elshenawy, Chief Technology Officer at Hims & Hers. "It knows each woman's treatment plan, delivers support unique to her, and brings a provider into the conversation when clinical judgment is needed."
Chief Medical Officer Jessica Shepherd, MD, FACOG, noted that "the clinical oversight, lifestyle guidance, and support a woman receives between appointments can matter just as much as the treatment itself."
The company describes the offering as a "first-of-its-kind" combination of intake, provider access, pharmacy fulfillment, and ongoing AI-integrated support within a single platform, based on publicly available information about U.S. telehealth offerings as of July 2026. The company states this is not a claim about clinical outcomes.
Hims & Hers said it plans to expand the AI-integrated experience to the Hims app and additional health categories over time. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker NYSE: HIMS.
