August 4, 2026 7:00 AM EDT

iBio, Inc. (NASDAQ: IBIO), a clinical-stage biotechnology company, has appointed Molly Carr, M.D., as chief medical officer, according to a company statement. Dr. Carr will oversee global clinical strategy, medical affairs, and regulatory initiatives.

Dr. Carr brings more than 30 years of experience in endocrinology and metabolic disease across clinical, academic, and biopharmaceutical roles. She previously held positions at Eli Lilly and Company, GlaxoSmithKline, CSL Behring, Wyeth, Northwestern University, and the University of Washington. Most recently, she served as clinical head and associate vice president of Lilly's Insulin and Glucagon Franchise, where she led the Phase 3 program for efsitora, a once-weekly insulin, along with other insulin and glucagon programs.

Dr. Carr earned her M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her residency and fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Washington.

In connection with her appointment, iBio granted Dr. Carr options to purchase 430,000 shares of common stock at an exercise price of $1.40 per share, equal to the closing price on July 31, 2026, the grant date. The options carry a ten-year term and vest 25% on the one-year anniversary of the grant date, with an additional 6.25% vesting every three months thereafter, subject to continued employment. The awards were granted outside the company's 2023 Omnibus Incentive Plan as an inducement under Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4) and include accelerated vesting provisions tied to a change in control or certain involuntary terminations.

iBio's pipeline includes two cardiometabolic candidates, IBIO-600 and IBIO-610, which the company is advancing toward later-stage clinical development.
