Hyliion tests two KARNO power modules running as one system

Hyliion Holdings Corp. (NYSE American: HYLN) announced it has successfully demonstrated two 200 kW KARNO Power Modules operating together as a single coordinated power generation system, according to a company statement.
During the test, the two units automatically shared changing electrical loads while maintaining stable power delivery. The demonstration validated the KARNO Management System's ability to coordinate multiple modules and dynamically adjust each unit's contribution as power demand changes.
The test supports Hyliion's development of a standardized 800 kW configuration and larger 2.4 MW and 3.2 MW power plant arrangements using multiple 200 kW modules operating in parallel.
"KARNO Power Modules can now operate together as one larger power plant," said Thomas Healy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hyliion. "It shows that customers can combine KARNO Power Modules to meet the needs of an individual site while using the same standardized technology as we expand to multi-megawatt systems."
The KARNO Management System uses a distributed control architecture that automatically assigns one module to coordinate the system and can transfer that responsibility to another module if the active controller becomes unavailable, reducing single points of failure.
Hyliion is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with research and development operations in Cincinnati, Ohio.
