Corsair Gaming, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRSR) announced a minority investment in Bitfocus AS, an Oslo-based software company behind the Companion and Buttons control and automation platforms used in broadcast, live events, and AV production environments.
The investment, made during the most recent quarter, deepens a relationship between the two companies that spans nearly a decade. Bitfocus's open-source Companion software has been used to turn Elgato's Stream Deck into a control surface for broadcast and live production, with hundreds of thousands of installations in studios and venues worldwide. The professional edition, Buttons, is used by broadcasters and rights holders in demanding production settings.
Corsair CEO Thi La said: "I am pleased to formalize our relationship with Bitfocus. Together, we now offer a complete software and hardware solution, one I believe is both compelling and innovative for the professional broadcast market."
Bitfocus CEO Ole-Andreas Løvland said the investment provides "capital to fuel our next phase of growth and development" along with "invaluable shared market insights." He added that Bitfocus remains committed to an open ecosystem.
The two companies previously collaborated on Stream Deck Studio, a hardware product launched in 2024 that was built specifically for the Buttons platform. Corsair said the investment is intended to align Stream Deck's product roadmap with Bitfocus's professional focus and support joint research and development.
Bitfocus was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
