VolitionRx Limited (NYSE American: VNRX) said it is in active discussions with several large diagnostic companies regarding its Nu.Q® NETs product, a blood-based test designed to detect elevated nucleosome levels associated with sepsis and other diseases linked to NETosis.
The company's Chief Commercial Officer, Gael Forterre, said the total addressable market for the product is approximately $3.8 billion on an annualized basis, according to a statement issued July 30, 2026.
The Nu.Q® H3.1 assay measures plasma H3.1 nucleosome levels, which the company says can distinguish sepsis from non-infectious systemic inflammation and correlate with disease severity, organ failure, and mortality. Volition cited four peer-reviewed or preprint studies published between 2022 and 2025 as supporting evidence.
Professor Djillali Annane of the Intensive Care Department at Raymond Poincaré Hospital (AP-HP) and IHU SEPSIS said the data showed "consistency of findings from different teams, across different countries and across different types of sepsis." He added that Nu.Q® H3.1 "provides new and additional information above standard organ failure scores such as APACHE II and SOFA scores."
Dr. Andrew Retter, Critical Care Lead and Medical Consultant to Volition, said the majority of the supporting papers have been peer reviewed and published, and that the test is designed to be "simple, low-cost" and accessible.
Volition conducts its research and development activities in Belgium, with an innovation laboratory in the U.S. and an office in London.
