Workiva Inc. (NYSE: WK) announced three specialized AI agents and a new intelligence layer called Workiva Knowledge, aimed at automating reporting and compliance workflows for enterprise teams.
The three agents — Tie-Out Agent, Benchmarking Agent, and Sustainability Disclosure Agent — are available to customers on advanced solution tiers. Each is designed to produce output the company describes as traceable and audit-ready.
The Tie-Out Agent performs consistency checks across financial reports, flagging discrepancies and generating explanations for variances to support the financial close process. The Benchmarking Agent analyzes publicly filed peer data from 10-Ks and 10-Qs submitted to the SEC, allowing teams to build peer comparison groups and identify disclosure gaps. The Sustainability Disclosure Agent drafts and checks disclosures against ESRS and ISSB standards, producing gap assessments and compliance scorecards.
Workiva Knowledge serves as a persistent intelligence layer that draws on an organization's past filings, internal policies, and other source documentation. The company says the layer is enriched with each reporting cycle so that AI interactions build on prior ones.
Workiva also announced a Model Context Protocol (MCP) gateway, which allows customers to connect external AI models to the platform while maintaining Workiva's permissions, governance, and data lineage controls.
"Finance, sustainability, risk, and compliance teams are moving from execution to orchestration as AI agents take on more of the work, and we're building the platform that makes that transformation possible," said Deepak Bharadwaj, Chief Product Officer of Workiva.
According to a press release statement, Workiva serves more than 6,700 organizations, including over 85% of Fortune 1,000 companies.
