Red Cat Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: RCAT) held a technology validation event in Salt Lake City, testing integrations from several industry partners on its Black Widow and Teal 2 drone systems, according to a press release from the company.
The event was organized through SPiDRWORX, Red Cat's internal innovation group based in Spring Lake, North Carolina. Five partner companies participated in the testing.
Hoverfly Technologies validated its NEXUS tethered unmanned system as a communications relay with Black Widow, extending the drone's network range. Safe Pro Group's AI-enabled threat detection software was evaluated using Black Widow-collected imagery for identifying hazards and suspicious objects. Palantir's vision-based navigation technology was tested with Black Widow in simulated GPS-denied conditions. Vigilare AI's TitanOps technology was validated on Teal 2, demonstrating voice and text command capabilities and operator workload reduction features. Reveal Technology conducted repeatability testing around imagery, photogrammetry, and 3D mapping workflows, and collaborated with Safe Pro Group on combined mapping and threat detection use cases.
"SPiDRWORX exists to move promising technology from idea to validated capability," said Jason Gunter, Vice President of Technology and Innovation at Red Cat. "The goal is not innovation for innovation's sake. The goal is giving users more effective tools at the tactical edge."
Red Cat stated it plans to continue holding validation events and expanding its Family of Systems for defense, government, and public safety customers.
