SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) has entered a multi-year partnership with Notre Dame Athletics, making SoFi the department's official financial services partner and the first brand to appear as a jersey patch on Fighting Irish uniforms across all 26 varsity teams, according to a company press release.
As part of the agreement, SoFi will establish an annual $1.4 million fund to support Notre Dame's "4 for Forever" program, which covers scholarships, financial education, and career development for student-athletes.
The partnership includes a scholarship program for walk-on student-athletes, with one men's and one women's recipient each receiving a one-year full tuition scholarship annually. SoFi will also establish a financial education hub on campus providing planning tools and personalized guidance to student-athletes.
"Notre Dame has spent generations developing champions in the classroom and on the field," said Anthony Noto, CEO of SoFi. "We are proud to partner with Notre Dame Athletics to help inspire the next generation and create opportunities that will shape their financial futures."
Pete Bevacqua, University of Notre Dame Vice President and Director of Athletics, said SoFi "shares in this commitment to developing strong, ambitious leaders who are set up for success at Notre Dame and beyond."
Additional elements of the partnership include fan and member experiences such as ticket giveaways, tailgates, and private events, as well as national broadcast integrations and community engagement initiatives.
