xAI launches Build Mode for Grok, lets users create apps and websites
xAI has introduced Build Mode, a new feature for its Grok AI platform that allows users to create websites, apps, games, and interactive dashboards through conversational prompts, according to a company statement.
The feature is currently available in Early Beta exclusively to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers on grok.com, iOS, and Android. Users describe what they want to build, and Grok generates working code and displays a live preview within the chat interface. The result can then be published to a grok.me link or a custom domain.
Build Mode supports several categories of output, including landing pages, portfolios, business sites, productivity tools such as planners and calculators, arcade and 3D games, and interactive dashboards. The dashboard feature includes connectors that allow Grok to pull in external data and display it as live charts or filterable views.
xAI said users do not need to install software or write code to use the feature, though manual code editing is available for those who choose it. Once published, projects can be shared with a link accessible to anyone.
No pricing details beyond the SuperGrok Heavy subscription requirement were disclosed, and xAI did not specify when Build Mode would be made available to other subscription tiers.
