Corpay launches virtual card tool for AI-driven payment workflows

Corpay, Inc. (NYSE: CPAY) has introduced a capability called Agent Card, which allows AI agents to generate virtual cards for business transactions within defined spending controls, according to a company statement.

The feature is designed to support payment workflows in which AI agents act on behalf of businesses for purchases such as supplier payments, digital advertising, travel bookings, and procurement. Agent Card supports both user-directed agent interactions and machine-to-machine payment processes.

The capability incorporates authentication, spend intent authorization, and open standards for AI connectivity, and is built to work with third-party AI agent platforms.

"Agentic commerce is creating a new frontier for business payments," said Danny Martucci, President and GM of Commercial Card at Corpay. "With Agent Card, Corpay is enabling trusted AI agents to initiate secure, controlled payment workflows using the same principles that make virtual cards such a powerful tool for businesses today: authorization, control, visibility, and security."

Tom Pierce, Chief AI Officer at Corpay, noted that virtual cards can be issued with controls tied to a specific purpose, making them suited for automated payment workflows. "Our role is to help businesses modernize their payment infrastructure with innovative solutions that prepare them for an AI-driven, agent-ready future," Pierce said.

Corpay said Agent Card follows the April launch of an AI Virtual Assistant within its Corpay Complete platform. The Atlanta-based company is listed on the S&P 500 and provides corporate payment solutions covering vehicle expenses, travel, and accounts payable.
