Astronics wins UK appeal in Lufthansa Technik patent dispute

Astronics Corporation (Nasdaq: ATRO) announced that a UK appellate court has issued a ruling in its favor in a long-running patent infringement case against Lufthansa Technik AG.

The appellate court dismissed Lufthansa Technik's appeal in its entirety. Lufthansa Technik had challenged a February 2025 trial court judgment on damages. Astronics had filed three appeals of its own, one of which the court granted.

As a result of the granted appeal, Lufthansa Technik will be required to make a partial refund to Astronics of damages previously paid. The specific amount of the refund has not yet been determined. The court's decision may also result in additional amounts payable to Astronics for attorney fees related to certain elements of the case.

Either party may request a further appeal to the UK Supreme Court, though it remains uncertain whether the Supreme Court will agree to hear any such appeal.
