Diana Shipping charters m/v Philadelphia to Classic Maritime at $35,500/day

Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE: DSX) announced a time charter contract for its Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel m/v Philadelphia with Classic Maritime Inc., according to a press release issued July 27, 2026.

The gross charter rate is $35,500 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties. The charter period runs from a minimum of March 10, 2027 to a maximum of May 10, 2027, with the charter expected to commence on August 8, 2026. The contract is anticipated to generate approximately $7.46 million in gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period.

The m/v Philadelphia is a 206,040 dwt Newcastlemax dry bulk vessel built in 2012. The vessel is currently chartered to Refined Success Limited at a gross charter rate of $21,500 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties.

Diana Shipping's fleet currently consists of 36 dry bulk vessels, including 4 Newcastlemax, 8 Capesize, 4 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax, 5 Panamax, and 9 Ultramax vessels. The company also expects to take delivery of two methanol dual fuel new-building Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, respectively. The fleet's combined carrying capacity is approximately 4.1 million dwt, with a weighted average age of 12.67 years.
