Longeveron adds Dr. Deborah Ascheim to its board of directors

Longeveron Inc. (NASDAQ: LGVN) announced the election of Deborah D. Ascheim, M.D., to its board of directors, according to a company statement released July 23, 2026.

Dr. Ascheim has more than 30 years of clinical and executive experience in gene, cell, and biologics therapies. She currently serves as fractional chief medical officer at Rejuvenate Bio, Inc., a clinical-stage biotech developing gene therapies for age-related diseases, and is founder and president of d2a Ltd., an independent consulting firm. She also serves on the advisory board of the Mass General Brigham Gene and Cell Therapy Institute.

Prior to her current roles, Dr. Ascheim served as chief medical officer at StrideBio, Inc. and earlier at Capricor Therapeutics Inc., a Nasdaq-listed company, where she led clinical development strategy and oversaw Phase I/II clinical trials. Her academic career included faculty positions at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where she focused on heart failure cardiology and led NIH and industry-funded trials totaling more than $140 million.

Dr. Ascheim earned her B.A. from Wellesley College and her M.D. from NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Longeveron's lead investigational product is laromestrocel, an allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell therapy. The company is pursuing four pipeline indications: hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), Alzheimer's disease, pediatric dilated cardiomyopathy, and aging-related frailty. The HLHS program holds orphan drug, fast track, and rare pediatric disease designations from the FDA.
