American Healthcare REIT, Inc. (NYSE: AHR) announced several leadership changes, including the appointment of Jeff Hanson as Chief Executive Officer and the elevation of Gabe Willhite to President.

Hanson, a co-founder of the company who has served as Chairman of the Board since its formation, had held the Interim CEO role since February 2026, when predecessor Danny Prosky began a medical leave of absence. Hanson will continue to serve as Chairman alongside his new CEO duties.

The board also appointed Scott Estes as Lead Independent Director. Estes has served as an independent director since August 2022 and as Audit Committee Chair since June 2023. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Welltower Inc. (NYSE: WELL) from 2006 to 2017, during which he led capital markets activity that raised more than $24 billion. Estes also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Essential Properties Realty Trust (NYSE: EPRT) and as a board member and Audit Committee Chair of JBG Smith Properties (NYSE: JBGS).
