Keros Therapeutics (NASDAQ: KROS) announced that Keith Regnante resigned as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 3, 2026, to pursue other opportunities. The company stated his departure was voluntary and not the result of any disagreement over accounting practices, financial statements, internal controls, or company policies.
The company's Board of Directors appointed Annita Tanini, previously Corporate Controller and Vice President of Finance, as interim principal financial officer and principal accounting officer, effective August 4, 2026. Keros Therapeutics said it has begun a search for a permanent CFO.
Tanini, 55, has held finance leadership roles at the company since May 2019. She previously served as Vice President of Finance at Avedro, Inc. and Senior Vice President of Finance at Fiksu, Inc. She holds a B.S. in finance and accounting and an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Under her employment agreement, Tanini will receive an annual base salary of $302,300 and is eligible for an annual cash bonus targeted at 30% of her base salary. If terminated without cause or if she resigns for good reason, she would be entitled to six months of base salary and up to six months of company-paid COBRA premiums, subject to execution of a general release.
Regnante is entitled to receive accrued base salary through his separation date and reimbursement of outstanding business expenses, with no additional severance payments beyond what applicable law may require.
