Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) a multi-year agreement to support the development of the Ahmadi Innovation Valley (AIV), an upstream research and development center in Kuwait.

The program covers applied research from concept through prototyping, piloting, and commercialization, with digital capabilities including data analysis and artificial intelligence integrated across the full field lifecycle.

Halliburton will deploy technologies through a program of projects and engineered solutions designed to address upstream challenges specific to Kuwait's energy sector.

"This award reflects the depth of the long-term collaboration with KOC and the shared focus on advancing technology development in Kuwait's energy sector," said Jeff Miller, Halliburton chairman, president, and CEO. "We combine global expertise, digital capabilities, and in-country presence to address Kuwait's unique upstream challenges."

According to a press release from Halliburton, the AIV program is described as a shift from traditional field services toward co-creation of technology and innovation, and is intended to build in-country capability for long-term growth.
